Food Safety Testing

The current technology utilized in food testing protocols requires an enrichment step of 24 hours, and an additional period of hours, or days to confirm the presence of a target microorganism.

FluoroQuik assays, in some cases requiring a short growth phase (less than 6 hours), can detect and confirm one cfu of bacteria per sample – Less than one work shift.  However, depending on the bacteria being identified, the testing time may require only minutes and no growth phase!

FluoroQuik assays can be utilized for the detection of Salmonella, e-coli including 0157H, Listeria, Campylobacter, and many other organisms of concern to the food industry.

For testing food, the FluoroQuik assays utilize samples from an emulsion or a swab sample.  If a short growth time is required, place emulsion in an incubator before placing into the FluoroQuik testing cuvette.
